Under this basic management policy, we have actively addressed the development of higher value-added products and the sophistication of product quality. In addition we have focused company resources on areas where we can display our strength. At the same time, we have strengthened our operations based on financial improvements, and have striven to practice a transparent management from that is easier to understand within and across the Company. Furthermore, as a key theme in the development of business in various parts of the world, we have has continued our commitment to environmental protection activities.
In practice, we're operating business the world; we're in attempts to attain gains in profitability as the world's strongest maker of a comprehensive range of precision parts; thereby we're targeting to upgrade our corporate value.
And the tasks we've taken in order to realize these targets can be set forth like the following:
- 1) Strengthen and expand our business of bearings and related products furthermore.
- 2) We will build our operations in the area of precision small motors, such as HDD spindle motors (including HDD spindle motors with fluid dynamic bearings) and fan motors, and other rotary components until they are similar in scale to our bearing operations.
- 3) Raise the share of value-added items in all the categories of our products; at the same time, enlarge our product range so as to respond to a wider extent of market requirements.
To drive forward these three management pillars further, we will resolutely carry out structural reforms, reinforce R & D and implement management with a clear vision.
Decisive Implementation of Structural Reform
Previously, our manufacturing and sales operations have been separate functions. This will be changed into the system of Business Units in which manufacturing and sales operations will be unified. The purpose of this is to assign each Business Unit with responsibility and authority so as to improve business performance of both sides of manufacturing and sales operations, and to maximize the profitability of the business.
As for the Headquarters, five Headquarters will be newly set up, namely Manufacturing Headquarters, Sales Headquarters, Engineering Headquarters, Operations Headquarters and Administration Headquarters. These new Headquarters will support each of the new Business Units.
The new organization should resemble warp (vertical threads) and weft (horizontal threads) interlaced forming a well-balanced weave, where the vertical lines are Business Units and the horizontal lines are Headquarters. Moreover, responsibility and authorization for both Business Units and Headquarters will be explicit, thereby ensuring an organization that can function actively.
Reinforcement of R&D
We will integrate R&D activities at our Plants and other departments under the new Engineering Headquarters to avoid overlapping. We will also reorganize our engineering team and make the operation more efficient so that we can maximize synergy effects by linking R&D activities in various parts of our operations.
Management with a Clear Vision
We will analyze future market trends, prepare ourselves for technological development and other tasks to meet future needs and make intensive investments in product development.
